Dedicated to the co-production of public safety in all of Baltimore’s neighborhoods, MONSE partners with Baltimore’s residents, community-based organizations, institutions, businesses, and agencies to stem the tide of violence, while simultaneously unearthing its root causes.
Our Mission
As the agency responsible for the implementation of the City’s public health approach to violence through Mayor Brandon M. Scott’s Comprehensive Violence Prevention Plan, MONSE partners with a number of interagency and community partners to stem the tide of violence while simultaneously unearthing its root causes. MONSE seeks to implement and support effective violence prevention and intervention, reentry, and rehabilitative strategies and co-produce public safety in all of Baltimore's neighborhoods. The agency's portfolio includes the Community Violence Intervention (CVI) ecosystem, the Group Violence Reduction Strategy (GVRS), victim services support and advocacy, neighborhood stabilization and outreach, and reentry services
